Jackson Pollock for dummies

                                   Art for you and me

From tie to time or when we have free time, we get a little bored. Here is when we find art to cheer up our existences!
Let´s check one of my favorite artists, Jackson Pollock. He was born in The U.S.A back on 1912 and die on 1956.
But why is he so interesting? I think you should see some of his paintings and then I will ask again:

So, isn´t him fantastic? don´t you feel the need of start painting by yourselve?
Let´s learn something more about Pollock:
Jacson Pollock facts:
  • Pollock stopped using symbolic titles for his work because he found them misleading. This is why his later works are numbered.
  • Pollock first studied drawing  but could not adequately express himself in the medium.
  • Pollock converted the barn on his farm in East Hampton into a studio.
  • For a time, Pollock sprayed paint onto the canvas through a syringe.
  • Pollock once had a job cleaning statues for the Emergency Relief Bureau. He also briefly worked as a janitor with his brother, Sanford, at a children’s school where their eldest brother, Charles, taught.
  • Pollock wasn’t a very good pupil at school. He got expelled from two high schools and in 1930 he decided to live with his brother in New York.
  • Pollock’s work wasn’t created in the traditional ways with the traditional painter’s tools. Instead of using a brush and an easel, Pollock placed his canvases on the floor and used sticks, dripping fluid, sand and knives to add paint. He used flinging, dripping, pouring and splattering techniques, using the movements of his whole body to control the flow of the paint.
  • Jackson Pollock’s paintings sell for millions of dollars. No. 5, 1948, for example, sold for $140 million in 2006.
Well if you want to know how to paint in Pollock´s style just ask your art teacher or get into the web there are lots of tutorials that could help you.
Bye.

  2. the art and the way of painting of pollock I like it a lot because it is different from all the artists, it is not the traditional works of art, it does not follow the rules, it only uses its imagination and its instinct, its techniques draw my attention (throwing, splashing , spill) using your body and your movements.
One thing I can emphasize is that his life was not easy, but he always saw the positive side of everything and everyone.
    Jackson Pollock great artis.

  3.   The introduction to the figure of Jackson Pollock being an artist was to live art, this means that we can recognize the artistic identity of each one, and realize that our creative impulses are as valid as those of any other. That originality is sometimes not understood by the people around us and that it can be difficult to overcome resistance to change.

  4. It seems to me that the way Pollock painted was very interesting, since he did not use very novel methods. I also like his paintings a lot, I like how he uses his hands to make this wonderful art. And to make art you do not always have to know how to draw, there are times when you only show what you feel by means of pure abstract art

  9. jackson pollock simply let himself be carried away by the emotions he felt at that moment and he expressed everything in the fantastic paintings, that when seeing them we changed the mood to everyone because of its variety of colors and its very funny shapes. For its history I can see that it was very hard in a few moments but he teaches us that everything has a solution and that we simply have to find our hidden talent to express what we feel and get rid of the bad times.

  10. It seems to me that Jackson Pollock is a very good artist and very interesting because through his paintings, his art he tries to share us, to feel his emotions, what is thought, what he feels.
He shows us that by means of paintings emotions can be expressed, since art is very beautiful and not only that, but also thanks to it, we can "let off steam" if we call it that.

  11. jackson pollock teaches me that we do not need to have a very high coefficient coefficient to become a recognized painter but we must let ourselves be guided by our imagination and our feelings because we become an innovative person and an example to others for being authentic.

  12. Art. What is art?, for Pollock it was more than a way of expresion, it was a way of explaining life, yet his way of doing this may be complex and and difficult to understand it's enjoyable and utterly beautiful, some might not find the profound meaning of Pullocks art or even grasp the beauty beneath every splatter of paint.

Pullock does not only hide his secrets within his paintings he hides much more. His art extravaganza was and still is ahead of his time. Even though I can't stand people from higher stands paying for something they do not understand I know that they will keep his memory alive.

  14. Jackson Pollock is one of those unique artists who has a different way of expressing himself adequately in art, in a different way, not so usual, but for him it is easier and more comfortable; You can find people who do not understand their style of art, they do not find meaning, and that is why they do not have to look for meaning in all works of art, since they will not always be so demonstrative and specific.

  20. I don't know a lot about art, but i like it.
Jackson Pollock was "revolutionary" in this word because in that time the art was just about landscapes and portraits but his originales ideas change the mind of what could be consider art. Breaking of every concept of stetic.

  21. I find it very interesting because it does not look like the others but it does so by expressing its body although it seems easy and without any meaning every drop has to have a reason to have done it also seems interesting to me since it was not someone who succeeded immediately

  22. I sincerely love the way he painted Jackson Pollock, since it is an abstract art and it is also different. In addition we look at one of his paintings and say that this is only a stain, but it is because we are used to knowing the meaning of a painting, the painter must accurately express his idea in the painting. maybe Jackson Pollock, in his paintings showed his feelings, the meaning of that painting. maybe for us it does not have a meaning, but for him, if he had it.

  24. I think the art of jackson pollock is unique, and I also like it, honestly I do not like art. but seeing this is painting, I begin to ask myself, and how did it happen? Was I angry? I was happy?. will it be that the painting will shine and he liked it and he kept doing it and that's how he got his paintings? or what each traso would mean, or if the color for it had a meaning. Will it be that people get used to their art? for that reason I like his art is abstract. Each person interprets it as they want.
